When and where does MOPS Georgetown meet? Our MOPS group meets on the second Monday of each month from September to May. Our meetings begin at 9:30 am and end at 11:30 am. We meet in the Shockwave Room at First Baptist Church Georgetown, while our children enjoy the MOPPETS program in the education wing of the church. First Baptist Church Georgetown is located off of Hwy 29 just west of IH35.
Who is welcome? We warmly welcome moms of every age, social or ethnic background and religious denomination - any mom who has (or is about to have) children from birth through kindergarten! Stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single and married moms, moms who are expecting and moms who are waiting to adopt - please join us! If you would like to visit one of our meetings, please contact us to
pre-register so that we may arrange for childcare and supplies. You are
welcome to join us at any time throughout the year! May I bring a guest? We love to have moms visit with us! However, our MOPPETS area is designed to care only for registered children. Moms who would like to visit with us need to make other childcare arrangements or make advance arrangements with our Registrar, Ange Blankenship, prior to the meeting. What happens at a MOPS Georgetown meeting? At each meeting, please arrive in time to drop off your children at their designated MOPPETS room. Drop off begins at 9:15am. Be early to the meeting for a chance to register for the Early Bird drawings featuring some great doorprizes! Visit, socialize and settle in. Jump in line for a tasty brunch made by your fellow Mops members and join your table as we begin our meeting. Anticipate each meeting to be filled with a great guest speaker, a touching devotional and stimulating conversation with your discussion group. Meetings may also be filled with crafts, opportunities to give back to the community, games and much more. After we wrap up the meeting, we ask that you pick up your children by 11:30am. For more information on meeting topics, speakers and themes, please see the calendar page. Where can I learn more about MOPS?For more information on MOPS International, please visit www.mops.org. There you will find more information about MOPS, other chapters around the world, membership information, discussion forums, and other valuable resources! | |
